AUTO BODY /COLLISION REPAIR

The collision repair
industry is in constant change, not only
with all the different manufacturers of
automobiles, but also the materials used
to complete the various types of auto
body repair. Technicians need to be
knowledgeable of both American and
foreign made automobiles.
Students
are trained in the use of basic hand
tools, oxygen/acetylene, welding,
expanding and shrinking metals, frame
straightening, repairing suspension and
steering systems and painting and
refinishing vehicles using all types of
automotive refinishing materials. |
Using the tools and
other industry-specific technical
training, students restore damaged
vehicles of various makes and models.
The collision repair process consists of
repair and/or replacement of automobile
body parts, frame straightening and
alignment spray painting, touch up and
glass replacement. Students in this
program also have the opportunity to
learn fiberglass, plastic, and sheet
metal fabrication.
