this course of study realize that many
of the health disciplines require two-
and four- year college programs.
Bio-medical Technology focuses on the
expanding field of health careers.
Students have a variety of laboratory
and clinical experiences creating a
broad platform from which to make career
decisions.
Study involves a
practical dimension to the various
career opportunities available in the
field, American Red Cross CPR/First Aid
certification, medical ethics &
terminology, universal precautions &
safety, anatomy & physiology, medical
math, first-level hematology,
urinalysis, microbiology, the human
service areas of rehabilitation, and
Certified Nursing Assistant. Areas of
genetics, immunology, cell culture
techniques and DNA manipulation are
evolving as the newest of technology
frontiers and are incorporated as
components of this program.
This broad-based program offers students
job mentoring, work experiences, and
internships. The content of the
individual years of study has been
assembled based on the needs expressed
by business practicing career
professionals and post-secondary
institutions. The interrelated studies
of English and Science have been
formulated to provide greater relevance
to students. Armed with these academic
tools, they are much better able to
function in their fields or to pursue
post-secondary studies with the skills
needed to succeed and to excel in the
field of medicine.
