This program is designed
to prepare students for entry-level
office work by duplicating business
conditions in curriculum content and
working environment. The physical layout
and appearance of the office technology
laboratory resembles that of a large
business office. Students in this
program receive training in the
following areas and/or equipment:
personal computer applications in word
processing and spreadsheets, reception
duties, letter and memorandum
composition and format, report writing,
use of electronic printing calculators,
photocopiers, and telephone protocol and
office organization. While enrolled in
this three year program, students will
also be exposed to relevant business
vocabulary from the various clerical
areas, complete simulation projects
geared towards life skills—personal
money management, budgeting, etc., and
unit projects devoted to understanding
and embracing the expectations of the
workplace environment.
