The East Providence High School community believes that excellence in education is the pathway to the future. Our goal is to instill a passion for learning and a sense of responsibility in all students. Teachers working with families ensure that every student’s transition to society is personal and meaningful. Students, administrators, faculty, and staff are part of a culture promoting a safe environment to explore new ideas, meet new challenges, respect diversity and contribute to the community.

Senior Project
This experience will focus on the K-12 education and showcase the skills and abilities that will be expected of a successful post-secondary student, employee and/or citizen.

Beginning with the Class of 2008, to address the “Graduation by Proficiency” mandate set by the Rhode Island Department of Education, all RI high schools must meet the guidelines set by the new RI Diploma System.

This new Rhode Island Diploma System applies to all RI public secondary schools and begins with the Class of 2008. The “new” system addresses proficiency in core content knowledge, applied learning skills and support systems for all students. The implementation of this “new” diploma system recognizes the need to insure that all RI students successfully complete a rigorous high school diploma program that gives them access to college or post-secondary training, whether immediately following high school or when and if they so choose.

EPHS has chosen to establish a “Graduation Portfolio” and “Senior Project” as the two methods of meeting and measuring each EPHS senior student’s proficiency for graduation. Successfully completing a “Graduation Portfolio” and a “Senior Project” are mandatory graduation
requirements.
