The first day of school for all students will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015. The Brown Street doors open to students at 7:45 and all students must be in homeroom by 7:55. Students are dismissed from school at 2:15.
On opening day all 7th and 8th grade students will report directly to homeroom at 7:45. Homeroom lists will be posted on the exterior doors, as well as in the locker room and commons of each house.
Sixth grade students will report to the cafeteria for a brief orientation. They will then be called by homeroom and escorted to class by their teacher. Parents are welcome to accompany their student to the cafeteria for orientation. We look forward to seeing all of you on the 1st.
The following is a Generic School Supply list to help your student get started..
- 4 Single subject notebooks
- 2 two-subject notebooks
- One 1” binder, divider folders, and lined paper refills
- 5 pocket folders
- 1 package of Square (3X3) Sticky Notes
- Small pencil sharpener
- Pencil pouch or pencil box
- Colored pencils
- Pencils/ Pens
- Small pair of scissors
- Scientific calculator (TI – 30XA or similar model)
- Glue sticks
- Ruler (1/16 inch)
- Self-adhesive tabs (used as notebook dividers)
- Gym clothes for PE/Health class
- Flash Drive
- (students who have Mrs. Richardson / 8th Grade : please have a 1 inch binder, dividers, and filler paper)
On Wednesday, September 9, 2015 Martin Middle School will be hosting a 6th Grade Ice Cream Social and Locker night from 6-8pm.
Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to meeting you!
Summer Reading for all incoming grades is suggested. Students may read books of their choice. Librarians at the public library are able to assist students in choosing age and grade appropriate material.
Reports written on the books that student's have read may be turned in to their ELA teachers by Friday September 4, 2015. Book report links can be found below.
