    Attention Parents:

Below you will find the Bullying Prevention PowerPoint that we shared with our students this past Monday at the grade level assemblies.

Bullying is one of the most abhorrent behaviors we deal with in school. Sadly, it is all too common and with the increase of cyber-bullying, today’s victims are tormented not only physically and emotionally, but also socially as others can witness or partake in the bullying through the use of the Internet.

Our goal for the assembly was to provide students with coping skills needed to deal with these behaviors and to get all students to be responsible for their own behavior, hopefully preventing such behaviors rather than intervening once the behaviors have occurred. We, as a school community and society, need to stop bullying from occurring rather than developing interventions that have no chance of providing comfort or relief to the victims; and redirect the bullies to more positive interactions with peers.
