Superintendent's Message
Dear Families, Students, and Educational Community:

The East Providence School Department is proud of the many successes of its students, staff, and schools. The East Providence High School was recently recognized as a Regents’ Commended school for improving in both English Language Arts and mathematics for 2005-06 school year. Both Riverside Middle School and Martin Middle School are categorized as high performing schools and the trend in the elementary schools is moving forward from moderately performing to high performing.

Each of our schools is a learning community comprised of excellent teachers, administrators, and support staff who constantly strive to give their best for the students.

Our families work hard to provide strong learning environments at home for their children and I urge all families to continue to work with and support our schools.

The East Providence School district will continue to excel if the entire community embraces education as a top priority. As you know, public education is essential to the development and maintenance of our city and democracy.

The entire school department remains committed to providing a quality education to its students. We look forward to working in partnership with our families and the community. Best wishes for a rewarding school year.

Dr. Jacqueline B. Forbes
